Top tips for a Senior Photoshoot | Margate Portrait Photographer

Your senior has made it the finish line! Now you’re thinking about doing a senior session (or maybe your senior is persuading you to do one. Here are a few tips to consider before you book your session:

  1. Keep your senior’s personality and extracurricular activities in mind when deciding what to do for your session. For example, if your senior is an athlete or was part of a club during school, you’ll want to incorporate those things into his/her portraits. It will help the session feel more authentic and tailored to them.

  2. Ask your senior what he/she wants represented the most in their photos. Have them be involved in the process as much as possible. This about celebrating them. Sometimes we as parents get caught up in the details and forget to enjoy the moment.

  3. Pick a location to matches your senior’s personality and the look they’re trying to achieve.

  4. Have at least one outfit change that best represents your senior’s interests. e.g. a cheerleading uniform, sports jersey, etc.

  5. Find a photographer that vibes well with your senior. If they don’t, it will show in their photos. Trust me.
